Growing clinical trials, together

“I’m Matt Lubick and I’m a cancer survivor. I’ve learned more and more about the impact that animal research has on the acceleration of trials – which I had – and the development of stem cell transplants – which I also had. Those treatments are the reason I’m here today,” said Lubick.

On May 18, 2024, we gathered for our annual One Cure dinner at Colorado State University’s new Spur campus, located adjacent to the National Western Stock Show complex. CSU Spur is future-focused, making it a fitting location for our event focused on the future of clinical trials at the FACC. Many guests enjoyed a tour of the facility before the dinner.

We were honored to hear a keynote address by Lubick, son of the revered Colorado State University football coach, Sonny Lubick, and an acute myeloid leukemia cancer survivor. He detailed his cancer journey and shared how important clinical trials were in his recovery. We also heard from his sister, and stem cell donor, Michelle Boyle. We were lucky to have FACC clinical trials patients, Ricci and Twilight, and their families join us as well.

As Matt Lubick detailed, the answer to cancer lies in the work of clinical trials – research studies that help accelerate cancer diagnostics and treatments. One Cure supports our clinical trials at the FACC, and we’re poised for greatness with the help of many. We aim to expand our trials program by adding a second clinician and a

recruitment specialist to help us treat more patients and conquer cancer in all species.

We are eternally grateful for the support we received from friends, near and far, who believe in our work and contribute to a cure.

Everyone holds a piece of the cancer puzzle, and it will take us all to solve this complex disease. Donate to One Cure here.
