Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging services include radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. Diagnostic imaging enables our veterinarians to look at what is happening inside your animal using noninvasive techniques. Radiology equipment is designed for examination of both large and small animal patients. Computed radiography, along with other forms of digital imaging, allows for improved diagnostic capabilities. Equipment with color-flow Doppler capability is used for ultrasound evaluation. The Computed Tomography (CT) scanner allows imaging of animals weighing up to 2000 pounds. Specialists in diagnostic imaging also use Single Photon Emission Computer Tomography (SPECT) to assist in difficult diagnoses. The MRI is a state of the art High Field 1.5 Tesla Magnet. At the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, our skilled personnel and advanced equipment contribute to the diagnostic imaging services reputation as one of the best of its kind in the United States. |
