Laboratories

The research facility houses 10 laboratories that are specific to cancer related research. They include:

  • Tissue Archiving Lab
  • Musculoskeletal Oncology Lab
  • Bioengineering Lab
  • Immunology Lab
  • Genomics Lab
  • Experimental Therapeutics Lab
  • Pharmacology Lab
  • Cancer Biology Lab
  • Medical Oncology Lab
  • Imaging Support Lab (Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, and PET-CT Support)

The first floor also houses special multipurpose training and lecture rooms equipped with video presentation capabilities, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite that includes a GE Millenium VG SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scheduled to arrive in early 2009. These nuclear medicine capabilities are not currently available elsewhere in the world for veterinary patients. The second floor includes more laboratories, office space, a conference room and administrative support space.
