Dr. Jamie Custis

Originally from Virginia, Jamie Custis received his Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech in 2001.  He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  During his two years in a progressive small animal practice in Houston, Texas, Jamie developed a particular interest in oncology.  In an effort to pursue further oncologic training, he completed a one year small animal medicine and surgery internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2008.  As a resident in radiation oncology, Dr. Custis is interested in the utilization of new modalities such as intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in an effort to improve local tumor control and decrease normal tissue side effects.
