K-9’s Against Cancer 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk

Against Cancer WalkLend a paw and grab your best furry friend and join us for K-9’s Against Cancer, a furtastic 5k and 1 mile fun run and expo. This family-oriented event will feature a day of food, fun, contests, giveaways, demonstrations and more. Raise pledges to win great prizes, each participant will get a free t-shirt plus a bandanna for your canine companions.

Come enter your dog in a photo contest, see line fly ball and agility demonstrations, learn about the early warning signs of cancer in your dog, check out some great adoptable dogs from local rescues and more!

Come and see what all the tail wagging is about - because together, we can find a cure.

WHEN:
Sunday, September 12th, 2010
Registration begins at 7:00am
5k run/walk begins at 9:00am
1 mile walk/run begins at 9:30am

WHERE:
Central Park – Stapleton (Denver, at Martin Luthur King and Central Park Blvds.) View a map.

WHO:
More than 500 dog lovers and their furry friends from throughout the metro Denver area.

COST:
$30 – Adult Participant ($20 for Additional Adult Family Members)
$15 – Children ages 6-17
Children 5 and under are free!

Funds raised will benefit: The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, The CSU Animal Cancer Center and the Foothills Animal Shelter.

Event Guidelines:

  • Water will be provided for you and your dog at beginning and end of the race
  • Walk or run only if you and your dog can comfortably go the distance
  • Must use 6 ft or shorter non-retractable leash
  • All dogs must have current ID tag and rabies vaccination tag
  • Please bring poop bags to clean up after your pooch
  • All dogs must be spayed/neutered
  • Puppies under 6 months are not recommended
  • All dogs must be on leash at all times
  • Dogs showing aggressive behavior will be asked to leave
